Made to last, adaptable for life.
Since its creation in 1980, MUJI has upheld a consistent philosophy in manufacturing: thoughtful material selection, streamlined processes, and simplified packaging.
Only what matters. MUJI’s minimalism is about simplicity, purpose, and avoiding overproduction.
ReMUJI circular initiative and collection
MUJI’s circularity strategy revolves around five key principles that guide every step of our process: refuse, reduce, repair, reuse, and recycle. We create valuable objects and garments, to be reused and shared.
Each item in your closet deserves attention. ReMUJI circular initiative celebrates the uniqueness of every garment - to stop disposing, and start reusing instead.
Dyed in natural blue pigments, each reclaimed piece gets a second life, and a new chance to be cherished and passed on. Inspired by Japanese tradition of treasuring clothes through re-dyeing, MUJI values the essential: quality materials, craftsmanship, and sustainable living.
MUJI presents its ReMUJI pilot project - a limited-edition collection, exclusively available in selected stores.

A natural and energy-efficient dying process
For this collection, MUJI collaborates with Eyand Factory in Vizela, Northern Portugal, chosen for its commitment towards ethical fashion and modes of production.

55% less water
ReMUJI collection’s dyeing process uses 55% less water than a regular one. The factory processes include collecting rainwater from the roof, taking advantage of the abundant rainfall in this part of Portugal, and using it in the dyeing process, while also recycling 45% of the water used during the dyeing process.

Renewable energy
Our partner factory aims at driving change towards more efficient energy processes, with more than 300 solar panels on the roof generating 80% of its electricity.

Natural pigments
The pigments, created solely from natural minerals, are blended to create a dark blue that echoes MUJI’s Japanese heritage. The minerals are responsibly sourced in collaboration with an ethical and quality-conscious extraction company, leaving mountains untouched. The pigment production process combines a low carbon footprint with extensive water reuse and careful waste reduction.
Care Guide
Due to the special dye process used to create this finish, colour may transfer onto other garments, in particular when wet.
Wash at 30° with a mild detergent on a delicate cycle. Wash light and dark colours separately. Allow to dry naturally away from direct sunlight to minimise discolouration. Do not dry clean. Do not bleach.
