A platform bed is a bed frame designed to support a mattress without the need for a separate box spring or foundation. It usually features a low, minimalist profile with a sturdy flat surface or slats to hold the mattress securely. Platform beds provide excellent support, encourage airflow around the mattress, and are often chosen for their simple, modern aesthetic.
